Server price is only part of the bill. Here is how to compare n8n Cloud, a DIY VPS and managed hosting on total cost, not just the monthly number.
Asking "how much does n8n hosting cost?" usually gets you a monthly number. The more useful question is: what does it cost to run n8n reliably for a year? That includes the server, setup, backups, monitoring and the hours somebody spends keeping it alive.
Our managed n8n hosting plans are flat-priced, with unlimited executions and no overage bills. Monthly billing has a one-time setup fee; annual billing gives two months free and waives the setup fee.
| Plan | Monthly | One-time setup | First year (monthly billing) | Per year (annual billing) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $19 | $15 | $243 | $190 |
| Business | $39 | $35 | $503 | $390 |
| Agency | $169 | $79 | $2,107 | $1,690 |
The first-year figure is twelve monthly payments plus the setup fee. Annual billing is cheaper in every case because you get two months free and no setup fee.
A VPS looks cheapest on paper, and for the right person it genuinely is. But the server price leaves out several things:
A simple way to compare: estimate the hours per month you would spend on the server, multiply by what your time is worth, and add that to the VPS price. For many small teams that number is higher than a managed plan.
If your workflows are light and steady, volume-based pricing can be perfectly reasonable. If you run many scheduled or webhook-driven workflows, execution counts climb quickly, and flat pricing makes the bill predictable. That predictability is often worth more than a small saving.
